Number 1

A picture of my first workshop, I still remember very well the feeling of it. It was a mix of feelings; I was a lit bit nervous before because I don’t know if everything will work the way I imagen it. To speak in front of a huge number of students who are speaking another language than I do, so everything must work in English. I think I never had presentation which last that long in English. Therefor I was a little bit nervous which is understandable, I think. But I knew my preparations were done well, so it should work somehow, and it did work out well.

After all the workshops I have done, there were quite a lot even though the pandemic shortened the period of workshops, I think this is the one I remember as the best one. The class where I had this workshop wasn’t a regular one, it was held in their European Club. This is something I didn’t know that this kind of thing exists and there are quite a lot of them all over Poland. The purpose of these clubs is to raise awareness about topics which are connected to Europe. This can mean to introduce a different culture to the other members or talking and discussing about issues which should be handled on a European level. Or as in this case, they invited me and Elena to make a workshop about our Country. To be honest the idea of these European Club is awesome, and I would have joined such a club if there was something like this one my school. The teacher who organised these meetings seamed so involved and engaged. I was also surprised by the fact how many students showed up on a Friday afternoon. To be honest I was a little bit jealous that we didn’t had such a thing in my school in Austria.

The school was a good one, so their English level was extraordinary, but this was a fact which I only noticed a little bit later. Also, their knowledge was quite good, therefor they a lot about Austria, so most of the facts I told them they already knew and the quiz which I made with them was not a real challenge for them. Nevertheless, the were all the time really engaged and when I was finished with the presentation, they asked me a lot of questions with a wide range. Form the favourite sport in Austria to the current political situation. After that I asked for constructive feedback and I got that, what real helped to improve myself for the upcoming workshops.
