My Expectation from the Volunteering in Warsaw

I’m Ilona Chukhua, 22 years old from Georgia.

From my view,  volunteering is so good option in order to develop myself and make changes around me.

I graduated from the International Relations Bachelor Program at the Faculty of Social Sciences, Humanities and Education in the International Black Sea University, after which I decided to bring something new into my life. At the same time, as you know, Covid Pandemic and the situation surrounding it have changed the lives of all of us. I realized that I was slowly moving into a passive mode, so it became very important for me to find any challenge that would make my days more interesting and fun. That’s why I started looking for different volunteer projects. After this, I found this amazing project and now I am participating in the project “Schuman Volunteers” in Poland within the European Solidarity Corps. The project is being implemented specifically in Warsaw and I think everything will be very exciting and it gives me new experiences.

At first, I did not know how to start all this or how to cope with the new challenge, but when I got information related to the goals and essence of the project I realized that this was what I needed.

I think volunteering will help me find myself, make new friends in a foreign country, share new foreign cultures and traditions. I’m trying to learn Polish at a certain level as well. Now, I am in Warsaw and I can say that my decision about involvement in this volunteering project is very right and meaningfull for my  development.

Why this project? It gives to me an excellent chance to take part in the process of raising children and encourage them with a broad variety of activities. I feel excited as I believe my experience and qualification will allow me to take on challenges associated with such a role.

What about program or Warsaw? The program is amazing and Warsaw is super interesting for new experiences and challenges.
