An introduction to Natalia’s life

Heeeey,

My name is Natalia and I am 25 years old. My father is greek and my mother is polish. I grew up in Greece, but I was visiting Poland every year since I was a child. I have a Bachelor of Science in Physics, but I always love spending time with children. I like travelling and meeting new people with different cultures and mindsets because, on my opinion, it is a way to become more open-minded and expand your horizons. I like also to feel productive every day and the fact that I could contribute to creating a better world is a pleasure for me. So volunteering for children was something that definitely I would like to do. I am so glad that Schuman Foundation and the Special Kindergarten No213 gave me this opportunity. I am so grateful that I gain experiences in this kindergarten daily and I discovered that I love spending time with every child that I met and face up different challenges every day.

Since October we are 13 volunteers by Schuman Foundation. Starting from different parts of Europe, all having a common destination and a common goal. Young people from 10 different countries managed to get along and like a BIG FAMILY, to spend beautiful moments that will become a beautiful memory for everyone. Our experience of looking after ourselves first and foremost, caring for others and our home will be unforgettable and useful for the rest of our lives. What will be engraved in the memories of all is how important it is not the party or who you share an experience with. The most important is to be active every day, contribute to the society, create your own experiences, collect your own knowledge and to learn to apply it in your everyday life.

Spending our free time in Warsaw during COVID time

I truly believe that learning to think positive in every situation of your life and be optimistic are great skills. Even in “corona time” we came to volunteer in Poland and I am impressed that we find things to do in our free time and enjoy every moment of our volunteering project. Ice skating, roller disco, night food markets, international dinner, polish and English classes, Halloween event and its preparation was only the beginning. We are looking forward to our new adventures and we approve everyone that we don’t have never to give up!
