This is for sure on of my favourite photos in general. The European Union and me, is almost like a never-ending love story. Okay that was a joke obviously, but I think all my friends know what I think about the European Union. One time, Elena found a bottle of white wine (I am also a fan of wine) which had on the etiquette the wine was produced in the European Union and she was convinced I would love the wine. To be honest it was a quite a good one, I enjoyed the glass.
For people who follow this blog, it shouldn’t be a surprise that I bring up the European Union once again, as it is an important part of my project and I would say even of my life. Also my personal view on it shouldn’t be a secret to anyone who read the article about exactly this topic. This isn’t the first entry which I wrote about the EU and I am not sure maybe another will follow which is somehow related to the EU in the Series “Project in Pictures”. I could repeat myself and explain one more time what it means but that could be boring, so I try to look for another aspect and as I wanted to focus on the picture.
The photo was taken, during the last working day before the office closed due to the pandemic. At this time most of the people who work there, switched already to home office. Therefor it was quite empty already, but for me or Elena this wasn’t a problem and we both still enjoyed going to the office to keep your normal routine alive. At this time, we didn’t know that the office will be closed tomorrow for a long time. At this day there was a packet with a lot of different flags in the office. They should be used for the Schuman parade, which unfortunately had to be cancelled, but I could use the opportunity and make this photo with EU flag. I really like the flag from the design perspective. The 12 golden stars on the blue banner are quite pleasing in my eyes. 12 as a symbol of unity is really fitting. The idea that we share one flag which stands for the European values, is the aspect why this one of my favourite photos.
