‘Peppa Pig Flat’ Tour

Hi everyone. It is again me – Khumara. Welcome to our home. Today I wanna talk about our flat because I think it can be useful for our next volunteers. Actually before starting the project we were said in which flat to live but there was less information in the infopack about Ursynów flat than others (Kabaty and Gocłow flats). That was not enough for me. Now I am living here and will try to fill the gaps with this blog post.

Firstly, guys, I want to mention that the symbol of our flat is Peppa Pig 😛 , cos many details in our flat are related to it. In this case, when we realized it, the idea of “let’s open an Instagram page of our flat” came to our mind, and to select Peppa Pig photo for PP. So we made it an official symbol for our flat. Btw you can follow us 😀 – @ursynow.girls

Let’s introduce ourselves. We are 4 girls: Ana (Georgia), Helen (Germany), Sara (Catalonia), and me – Khumara (Azerbaijan). Being people coming from different cultures we always try to do cultural exchanges and also discover Poland. In these 3 months, we traveled a lot, and celebrated Halloween, Christmas holidays.

To be honest, I am a Muslim who celebrates Christmas first time in my whole life. Helen and Sara taught me many things about this holiday. For example, we all together counted the days until the holiday and opened the Advent calendar. On 6th December, I found lots of candies on my shoes from Saint Nicholas because of being a good child for a whole year haha. We beat Tió with a stick while singing ‘Caga tió song’, he shit and we got presents from him. I know it sounds super weird but in reality, it is a funny Catalan tradition 🙂 Moreover, we cooked Christmas cookies, bought a fresh Christmas tree and decorated it, made a gingerbread house. They introduced their holiday traditions to me in a perfect way. Thanks, girls <3

Our flat consists of 4 rooms. Two of them are individual rooms, another one is a double room. And of course the living room, kitchen, and bathroom. I share my room with Ana. I can say to the next volunteers that guys, here is a super cute and cozy place. Let’s enter all the rooms step by step.

On the other side, our flat is located just near the metro and there are many types of shops, parks, fitness clubs. You can find here what you will need for living.

We are spending great days in our ‘Peppa Pig Flat’ and hope you also will get forgettable memories here <3
