Wrocław – The name alone is so polish it is incredible, almost the same level as Łódź but this name is unbeatably in this point of view. I have been to this city three times and always for different occasions. One time for working, once for getting to know the city and once for visiting a friend. I enjoyed always even though the feeling was different.
The first one was before Christmas, therefore in the oldtown there was a Christmas market and it was made with so much love for the small details. It was a real pleasure to walk through the city and drink there a cup of hot wine with a real cup and not plastic one.
The second time was during January, together with the other volunteer for one weekend to see the city and get to know it a little bit. There I met also Florentin, he is also a volunteer who had the on-arrival training with some other volunteers who joined me for the trip. I enjoyed this trip as well, even though it was for sure during the coldest period of the year.
This weekend I was the third time there, this time for spending some time with Florentin, and seeing this city in summer also. Because I always have the feeling a city in the winter is not the same city as during summer. So, I was also excited to see it in Summer and of course spending time with a friend is always amazing. The fact that he lived so close to the city enter, amazed me the whole weekend, having a flat so central in the city, was not imageable for me. When I compared it to the distance I am used to here in Warsaw. We only took once the public transport; the rest was in walking distance.
The gnomes are all over the city distributed and every time I was there, I saw different ones and even this just such a small detail of the city, but it gives a lot of charm to it. It is always nice to find one of these little guys, like this one who is called Franek and it seems, that he enjoys the city also a lot. After my third visited, I can say I really enjoy this city a lot and I think I know why there always saying its Wroclove to it.
