Evaluation

It will be my last blog. To be honest this volunteering project was better than my expected. Also I love Warsaw.

First days: I was shy and confused in first days. I didn’t have much experience about working with special kids. But I got used to it over time. I started to like Warsaw, my friends and teachers in the kindergarten.

Arrival and Midterm Training: I had arrival training in November. It was a really good experience for me. I met with so many volunteers who from other countries and livin in other cities of Poland. We enjoyed and learned something about volunteering during 6 days.

Midterm training was online. I supposed to go to Torun for training. I’m sure that it would be great but I couldn’t. It’s better than my expected anyway.

Poland: To be honest I had seen so many negative comments about Poland and Polish people on the internet before I came here. But Polish people are really nice and friendly who I know. Also Poland is really beautiful with nature. I’m from Istanbul and Warsaw is more quiet, safety and beautiful than Istanbul so I love Warsaw. You can find here what you want.

Kindergarten: I worked with special kids in the kindergarten. To be honest it was a bit tiring sometimes. But teachers were really friendly and helpful.

Language: My English wasn’t good in the beginning of project. My speaking and listening skills wasn’t good. Everybody have different accent and it was difficult to understand different accents. I improved my English and I can talk and understand to people more easily. But Polish is still so difficult language for me 🙂
